Feely 5505972 Commercial Work I am currently Sydney-based and spend some of the year in Brisbane, The Northern Territory and India. I have a small base of commercial clients and do some freelance editorial. I balance this with my own artistic work. A few days a week I assist some of Australia's best photographers, including Toby Burrows. 2 months a year I am invited by Sharing Stories to collaborate as a photographic artist with remote indigenous communities in Australia and India. I am interested in shooting specifically for Dumbo Feather as I have been joyfully curling up on my couch (with my cat and a cup of tea) reading DF religiously since 2008. Artist Statement (For Infinite,a body of work I am currently working on) The place where the intellect meets the indigenous—this is the very essence of my personal work. The indigenous paradigm is without time or space, it is the cultural manifestation of the subconscious; in the intellect, this is metaphor. To me photography is discovery; a space within the intellect that points beyond the metaphor. Ancient indigenous cultures who practice devotion and surrender do so in order to gain what is beyond this metaphor and accept their given experience.
